A Southwest flight that left Nashville on Monday night ended up making an unscheduled landing in Dallas.
Flight 1118 was scheduled to land at Dallas Love Field but touched down at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport instead.
A representative for Southwest Airlines said an instrument inside the cockpit indicated that one of the plane's flaps had possibly not extended all the way.
According to the airline, the protocol called for a higher speed at touchdown.
The captain of the plane decided to use a longer runway at DFW instead out of an abundance of caution.
Because the landing was unscheduled, the tower employees called emergency vehicles to the scene. The airline characterized the landing as "uneventful."
The airline says they worked quickly to accommodate the 103 passengers to make sure they wouldn't be further delayed and offered "a gesture of goodwill" for the inconvenience.
