It's a big day for thousands of families across Nashville as they prepare for the first day of school.

Over at Antioch High School, students will be meeting a new principal.

Clarissa Zellars has been with MNPS with 18 years. Prior to taking the job at Antioch High School, she was working as the improvement strategy director for the district.

Another huge change at the school this year is the addition of 20 new classrooms.

Just a few months ago, students were having to learn in portable buildings on the campus.

The project started in August of last year and wrapped up just last month.
