MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Sentencing has been set for a Tennessee man convicted of aggravated assault for severely beating a gay man and bragging about it online.

The Daily News Journal reports Brandon Wiley, of Lewisburg, is set to be sentenced Thursday. Wiley and the victim testified last week about the 2018 attack at a Murfreesboro bar.

The victim said they were drinking and playing bar games before he was beaten into unconsciousness. He previously told police that he offered to pay Wiley to remove his shirt. He says he awoke at a Nashville hospital with facial fractures and missing teeth. He says he's now on antidepressants and sleep medications.

The 25-year-old Wiley said he has "brought great dishonor on my family," adding that alcohol played a big part and he'd like to apologize.
