According to Metro Police, four pounds of methamphetamine and a pound of marijuana were found on a bus arriving in downtown Nashville from Atlanta.
The sting was part of an ongoing investigation by MNPD's Major Case Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Detectives arrested Iesha Unique Marquez, 22, of Fairburn, GA, after she exited the bus at the Megabus stop on 5th Avenue. The drugs were retrieved from her luggage.
Marquez told detectives she was being paid $2,300 to transport the drugs from Atlanta to Nashville. She says this was her first time doing so.
Police charged Marquez with possession of meth and marijuana for resale. She is being held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
A 16-year-old girl was also traveling with Marquez.
Marquez says the teen was promised $500 of her total payment. The girl was taken to juvenile detention.
