UPDATE: The Nashville Fire department confirms they have recovered a body from the Cumberland River. 

Fire crews reportedly spotted the body while they were training on the river Sunday. 

Metro Police and the Medical Examiner will take over the scene as an investigation is conducted. 

No information has been made available as to the identity of the body or the cause of death. 

News4 will update this story as information becomes available. 


NASHVILLE (WSMV) - Crews from multiple agencies are working to conduct a water rescue in the Cumberland River Monday night.

According to a Nashville Fire spokesperson, Nashville Fire boat 13 and boat 22 have been launched into the water.

Search for body on the Cumberland River

The Office of Emergency Management has also been dispatched to the scene.

At this time, there is no details on any person in the water.
