A Middle Tennessee State University police officer is on administrative leave without pay after being arrested early Monday morning by Murfreesboro police officers.

Marco Burke, 39, was arrested around 5 a.m. Monday on a charge of theft of property $1,000-$10,000.

An MTSU spokesperson said Burke had been placed on administrative leave without pay after the arrest.

"No police officer is above the law, and we are cooperating and helping the Murfreesboro Police Department fully and in any way we can," said MTSU Police spokesman Patrick Fajardo.
