Mayor declares Aug. 1 as 'Nashville Hot Chicken Day'

The proclamation comes in honor of the release of the new hot chicken Pringles flavor.

Nashville Mayor David Briley has declared Aug. 1 as "Nashville Hot Chicken Day" in Davidson County.

This is in honor of the new flavor of hot chicken Pringles that will only be sold at Dollar General stores.

In the official proclamation, Briley wrote the purpose is to “extend appreciation to Dollar General Corporation and the Kellogg Company for giving back to the community."

As usual, a line stretched out the door Wednesday at Hattie B's Midtown location.

"I just love chicken and I know it's going to be very good," said tourist Mike Coble, who had never dined at the Nashville hot chicken staple.

Other popular hot chicken locations stayed busy as well, like Bolton's and Prince's Hot Chicken.

Special hot chicken Pringles will only be sold for a limited time at more than 15,000 locations in 44 states.

Dollar General is headquartered in Goodlettsville and employs more than 7,000 Tennesseans.
