Confused about how Olympic golf will be working at the Rio Games? Well, you’re not alone: Team USA’s Matt Kuchar just revealed to that he does not know the format of the Games.

"Now, I may be misinformed or just don't know. You may have to help me. Is there no team format at all?" he asked.

It seems Kuchar expected the Olympic format to be similar to that of the World Cup, in which players compete as part of a larger team that, as a whole, represents their country. In reality, each player will compete individually. While they will be representing their respective nations, each golfer may be competing directly against a compatriot.Let’s cut Kuchar a bit of slack though; Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson had to pull out in order for him to make the field. Luckily for Kuchar he still has eight days to find out exactly what he’ll be doing in Rio next week. The golf tournament begins Aug. 11.
