A man was arrested for shooting his girlfriend inside a hotel room on Tuesday night.

Police arrested Brandon Robichaud, 27, and charged him with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Leanne Austin, 37.

Murfreesboro Police said officers responded to a call of a man sitting in the roadway on West Main Street near Bridge Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were told by witnesses the man had made statements of having shot someone at InTowne Suites at 1345 Old Fort Parkway and had run toward that location.

Officers located the man, identified as Robichaud, at the rear of InTowne Suites. They went to the room where he resided with Austin, his girlfriend. Austin was found in the room and had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
