A Kentucky teenager has been arrested after allegedly making threats toward a school on social media.
The post referenced Madison Central High School in Richmond, KY.
However, some students and parents in Montgomery County saw the threat and thought the "MCHS" mentioned in the post was Montgomery Central High School.
School resource officers have confirmed that the student was not referring to Montgomery County.
While the situation was being investigated on Monday night, extra deputies were called in to patrol the school as a precaution during the basketball game.
"We appreciate the vigilance of our citizens and take every potential threat to the safety of our schools seriously," said Sheriff John Fuson in a news release. "We will continue to aggressively investigate every threat to ensure the safety of our schools."
The juvenile was taken into custody by Kentucky State Police.
