Clarksville officers responded to a strange call on Thursday morning.

Police received a call around 8 a.m. that a buggy had crashed into a mailbox.

A woman was driving a horse and buggy down Suiter Road when the horse got spooked for an unknown reason and took off running wildly.

The buggy driver was forced to jump from the buggy and landed on the street, sustaining minor scrapes, cuts and bumps.

The horse continued onward with the buggy still attached and disappeared over a hill.

A man who saw what occurred stopped and picked up the woman and they went in pursuit of the horse and buggy.

As the horse was running down the road, the buggy hit and knocked over four mailboxes.

The collision with the mailboxes caused the buggy to flip and collide with a parked car, at which time the horse was freed and continued until it was located unharmed on Tylertown Road.

The horse was recovered and taken into custody by the owner.
