Goodwill kicks off its 12 Days of Giving celebration on Tuesday.
It’s an effort to raise awareness about donations and how they enable the organization’s different education and training programs.
The programs aim to give people of all backgrounds with various disabilities and challenges the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
A Goodwill employee told News 4 the organization gave her new purpose after losing her eyesight two years ago.
“I probably would’ve gave up a long time ago because I was on the verge. I had to get help because I was on the verge of giving up,” Lynn Starks said. “This place has given me a whole new meaning. I love coming here. I don’t come here for the money. This is my new family. This is a new life for me.”
The event runs through Dec. 9. Click here for more information.
