Former Metro officer convicted of official misconduct

A jury reached a mixed verdict in the trial of a former Metro police officer.

They found Jeffrey Poole not guilty on four counts of rape but convicted him of official misconduct.

Poole was accused of assaulting a woman while he was on patrol.

Sentencing is scheduled Aug. 28.

Poole still has other pending charges, including official misconduct, patronizing prostitution and aggravated child abuse. No trials dates have yet been set in those cases.
