BURNS, TN (WSMV) - A nineteen-year-old woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 70 in Dickson County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Irma Lopez Ortiz was driving, with Paul Pewitt as her passenger, on Highway 70, when Randy Reynolds crossed his vehicle over the center line and hit Ortiz and Pewitt head on.
Ortiz died on the scene and Pewitt was transported to Vanderbilt. Both passengers were wearing their seatbelts.
Reynolds was transported to Horizon Medical Center. He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death, evading arrest on foot and driving on a revoked license.
The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m., according to information on the TDOT Smartway website, near Montgomery Bell State Park.
