Hendersonville Fire Department officials confirmed one person is dead after a boating accident near a Hendersonville marina. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency was on scene and investigated a crash between a bass boat and a jet ski on Old Hickory Lake.

TWRA identified the victim as Christopher Lindroth, 58, of Hendersonville. According to officials, a bass boat and Lindroth's jet ski were approaching each other when both operators attempted to avoid collision. However, TWRA says the vessels swerved in the same direction, resulting in the fatal wreck.

Authorities said the accident occurred in the area of the Bluegrass Marina.

Lindroth was thrown into the water with critical injuries. He was wearing a life vest.

The operator of the bass boat pulled Lindroth on board and took him to Bluegrass Marina. Emergency personnel began CPR and then transported Lindroth to Hendersonville Medical Center, where was pronounced dead.

TWRA said the investigation is ongoing, and that they have impounded both vessels. At this time, officials do not believe alcohol contributed to the accident.
