Waffle House Shooting - 10/23/19

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - Police said one person was shot at the Waffle House at 707 Stewarts Ferry Pike on Wednesday morning.

Police said the victim is in critical, but stable condition at a Nashville hospital.

The suspects left the scene around 11:50 a.m. driving a black Volkswagen. The flight of direction is unknown.

Police said it appeared the victim and suspects knew each other and it appeared to be a drug-related crime.

Waffle House sent News4 the following statement regarding the shooting:

"We are assisting police in their investigation of a shooting that took place outside our restaurant today in Nashville.  The investigation is just beginning, and we await further information from the police.  We believe there was one person injured in the shooting, and our thoughts are with him and his family. We are thankful that none of our associates or customers inside the restaurant were injured."
