Cyntoia Brown case goes before Appeals Court

A Nashville woman sentenced to life in prison is expected to make a new plea for freedom Thursday.

30-year-old Cyntoia Brown's attorneys will ask for leniency before a U.S. Federal Appeals Court in Cincinnati. Brown was sentenced to life in prison without parole at 16 years old for the murder of Johnny Allen.

Brown claims it was self defense and said she was forced into prostitution. As it stands now, Brown will not be eligible for parole for another 39 years.

Brown's cries for justice have captured the attention of a number of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian West and Rihanna.
