GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -- Tennessee Highway Patrol investigators report two people have died as a result of a wreck on TN Highway 109 near Old Douglas Road in Sumner County north of Gallatin.

THP officials said the second person succumbed to injuries Friday evening.

Troopers identified the driver who died as Jordan McClanahan, 18, of Gallatin. His passenger, Kyle Keegan, 23, was also killed.

Investigators said McClanahan's car was traveling westbound on Old Douglas Lane and then, for some unknown reason, crossed four lanes of travel into the southbound lanes of TN Highway 109.

A pickup truck driven by Charles Mackey, 49, was traveling southbound on TN Highway 109 in the second lane.

THP officials said Mackey's vehicle struck the passenger side of McClanahan's car.

Mackey and his passenger, Dameon Shankle, 18, were injured.

McClanahan's car finally came to a stop in the grass off the right side of 109 facing northeast.

Mackey's pickup finally stopped in the grass off the right side of 109 facing east.

All of the people involved were wearing their seat belts, THP officials said.

TN Highway 109 was closed for most of Friday afternoon while troopers gathered evidence in their investigation.
