You can certainly entertain and have a Wine and Cheese party or a Wine, Beer, Cheese and Chocolate pairing party, even on a budget!

AIMEE FORTNEY'S WINE, CHEESE AND CHOCOLATE PAIRINGS

cheeses:

Sharp Cheddar - for Cabernet Sauvignon - I like Black Box ($19.99 for one box; equivalent of 4 bottles!) or Simply Naked

Gruyere - for Pinot Grigio

Paremsan - Cava - I used Segura Viudas Brut Reserva and Segura Viudas Brut Rose; each $10.00; so much cheaper than champagne!

Manchego - Malbec (Black Box Malbec is just $19.99; the equivalent of 4 bottles!)

Honey goat cheese - sharp - Muscato

*Beer - I serve Sweetwater IPA (as that is my husband's favorite beer, and I enjoy it, too!)

For chocolate pairings:

Cabernet - bittersweet chocolate

Malbec - a dark chocolate

Pinot Grigio - Milk chocolate

Cava - salty chocolate (so a nutty chocolate bar or one with sea salt)

Serve wines with apples, pears and grapes; try not to have citrus fruits. Choose various crackers and make sure you set your cheese out at least half an hour before serving.
