Mt. Juliet Police deliver pizza after arresting delivery driver on Rutherford County warrant
“To ensure the customer wasn’t left hungry, one of our officers stepped in and completed the delivery.”
MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Mt. Juliet Police Department delivered a pizza after arresting the delivery driver on a warrant out of Rutherford County.
MJPD said license plate reader cameras alerted officers to a vehicle linked to a man wanted for failure to appear on illegal drug charges out of Rutherford County on Sunday.
Police pulled over the 34-year-old Smyrna man on Lebanon Road near Park Glen Drive as he was in the middle of delivering a pizza.
The 34-year-old was arrested on his active warrant and booked into the Wilson County Jail.
Since the man was delivering a pizza at the time of his arrest, MJPD said they didn’t want to leave the customer hanging, so they completed the delivery.
“To ensure the customer wasn’t left hungry, one of our officers stepped in and completed the delivery. Just another way we serve—even if it means delivering pizza!" MJPD said.
