Shooting victim arrives at hospital after incident outside Hermitage motel

Police said the man was shot while leaving a motel in a U-Haul late Thursday night.
His companion was driving and continued on to the hospital in Hermitage.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man remains hospitalized after a shooting late Thursday night in Hermitage.

The Metro Nashville Police Department was notified by medical personnel at Tristar Summit Medical Center after a man arrived suffering from gunshot wounds around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday. Officers were dispatched and learned the man was shot as he was leaving a motel on Stewarts Ferry Pike in a U-Haul with another person.

MNPD said the U-Haul was turning onto Stewarts Ferry Pike from Bell Road when someone from another vehicle opened fire and struck the man in the passenger seat. The driver continued on to Tristar Summit to get help for the injured man.

The victim’s injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening, police said.
