La Vergne man killed in crash in south Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Police have identified the 42-year-old man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Old Hickory Boulevard near Owen Drive on Saturday.
According to police, Circo Pamila-Benito was driving his 1990 Ford F-15 southbound on Old Hickory Boulevard when he entered a curve in the roadway, crossed over the double yellow lines and crashed head-on into a northbound Nissan Rogue. Benito was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Anthony Birge, 51, the driver of the Rogue, had injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
Both men were wearing seatbelts.
Police said there was evidence of alcohol involvement in the Ford F-150. Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine whether impairment played a role in the crash.
