Domestic dispute ends in shooting on Thursday night
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Police are investigating a shooting in South Nashville from Thursday night.
According to police, a woman who lives at The Views of Brentwood apartment complex on Plum Nelly Circle was involved in a domestic dispute with her estranged husband, whom she has a protection order against.
The husband showed up to her place on Plum Nelly Circle, so the woman called her father and brother. When they arrived, and argument ensued and the husband lunged toward them. The brother shot the husband three times in the abdomen area.
Officers at the scene interviewed the two family members and the brother admitted to shooting the husband in self-defense. The two men were not arrested and let go, while the injured husband was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center and remains in critical, but stable. condition.
The 45-year-old estranged husband will faces charges of violating a protection order and stalking, upon his release from the hospital.
The remainder of this case will be handled by the Davidson District Attorney’s office.
