Area Counties See Dusting Of Snow
Some Schools On Cumberland Plateau Closed Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Overnight snow showers have closed some school systems on Monday along the Cumberland Plateau.
Monday morning snow showers have produced minor accumulations west of Interstate 65, ranging from a dusting across Humphreys County to a half-inch in Dickson County.Snowfall has accumulated in eastern middle Tennessee and along the Cumberland Plateau, with amounts ranging from a dusting around Cookeville, McMinnville and Livingston, to half-inch around Crossville and Jamestown.The light snow is expected to continue throughout much of the day with some additional accumulation possible, mainly in eastern areas and along the plateau. Temperatures will not rise much on Monday with highs remaining in the 30s.The last time we had measurable snow in the Nashville area was back on March 8 of this year, when one half inch fell.There has not been measurable snow in Nashville in the month of November since 1.3 inches fell on Nov. 10 in 1996.The last time measurable snow fell in Nashville in the month of December was on Dec. 30 in 2000. The average date of the first half inch of snow in Nashville is Jan. 3.Tuesday's forecast for the regions is partly sunny with highs in the lower 40s.
