NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- It's never too early to start thinking about getting through airport security this holiday season. Before wrapping those presents you plan to carry on the plane, take heed of these tips:

- Do not gift-wrap carry-on items, because you will be required to unwrap them.
- Wrapped gifts should be packed in your checked bag.
- Do not carry on remote-controlled toys.
- Nashville International Airport has the family lanes for anyone who needs some extra time to get through security.
- The Transportation Security Administration is still enforcing the 3-1-1 liquid rule, so if you have any jams or jellies, they are considered gels. They have to be in 3-ounce containers and must all fit in a clear, one-quart size bag. The TSA is working on upgrading X-ray machines to be able to distinguish between liquid explosives and beverages.
