NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A tractor-trailer loaded with steel lost its load Tuesday on Interstate 40 in west Nashville after the driver, who died, possibly had a medical emergency.

The accident happened just before 10 a.m. near the White Bridge Road overpass. James Fincher, of Petersburg, Mich., ran off the road and crashed into a concrete barrier.The 42-year-old, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.Police said there was no evidence of alcohol or speeding in the crash.Traffic was touch-and-go in the area Tuesday afternoon while crews got the truck and steel out of the way.Copyright 2009 by WSMV.com.
