(WRCB) - Good Wednesday. Our average highs should be sliding downward during the second half of August. We are going to experience the exact opposite over the next few days. You will certainly want to do your outdoor stuff during the morning and evening hours if at all possible.
The average high for today's date is 89. We will soar to about 94 degrees this afternoon. Factoring in the humidity, it will feel like about 100 during the heat of the day. You can expect some widely scattered thunderstorms through the afternoon as well. With the annual rain deficit approaching 7", a brief heavy downpour would not be a bad thing.
Today will be the last chance of seeing any significant rainfall for a while. High pressure will settle in, and keep the rain chance very low. Muggy, stagnant air will be the rule through the first half of next week.
Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s each day with heat index values ranging from 100 to 105 each afternoon.
