McMINNVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Former Warren County Sheriff Kenneth Taylor was cited in a fatal crash with a motorcyclist on Saturday in McMinnville

According to officials with the McMinnville Police Department, Taylor was crossing Colville Street at the intersection of Depot Street in downtown McMinnville around 4 p.m. Saturday when he failed to yield, striking 21-year-old Jay Alan Webster.

Webster was traveling east on Colville Street on his motorcycle when he was hit. He was transported to Saint Thomas River Park where he later died from his injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by McMinnville Police, Tennessee Highway Patrol and the local DA's office.

Taylor, 69, was cited for failure to yield but was not arrested after the incident.

Police said it's too early in the investigation to determine whether or not charges will be filed against him.

According to officials, this is the third fatal crash in McMinnville this year due to a driver failing to yield for oncoming traffic.
