NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Three teens say they were robbed at gunpoint in the middle of the day in a Bellevue parking lot.

The teens tell News4 they were looking at an apartment complex at Sawyer Brown and Hicks Roads on Sunday when they parked behind the leasing office and were approached by five men with guns.

The teens said the men opened their car doors and robbed them taking cash, wallets and cellphones as they sat in the car.

The group says the suspects were extremely brazen robbing them in the middle of the day with kids playing just yards away.

The teens say this is a reminder to stay vigilant no matter where you are.

Metro Police say they’ve been seeing a rise in these types of crimes which is why they created the juvenile crime task force.

The teens say the suspects were all black males, with tattoos, believed to be in their late teens to early 20s. The group was driving a late model red Chevy Camaro with black rims and dark tint.

If you have any information you are asked to call Crimestoppers.
