Float therapy helps relieve chronic pain, stress

Posted: Updated:

In a world flooding with technology, it can be hard to relax and unwind.

There’s a new form of stress relief that helps with chronic pain.

It’s called float therapy and it’s as simple as it sounds. You just sit back, relax and float.

People are raving about the benefits of float tanks, but what are they really like?

“Amazing. I feel like I’m ready to run a marathon or something,” said Nicholas Gann.

You step into a room, take a quick shower and slip into a tank of warm salt water.

“The most amazing thing about a float tank is that everybody floats,” said Amy Grimes, owner of Float Alchemy. “You are so buoyant you’re like a cork, and it’s so comfortable that people fall asleep in there.”

The benefits range far and wide from relieving chronic pain to reducing stress. The tubs also help with sleep, anxiety and inflammation.

“I had been living with chronic pain for 26 years and the only thing that helped me through that time was floating,” said Grimes.

The feeling is hard to describe but very relaxing.

“It’s like the best waterbed in the world,” said Grimes. “It’s very comforting and soothing and it feels like a very nurturing environment.”

You can experience the relaxation and fix your chronic pain at Float Alchemy in Murfreesboro or Float Nashville, located on Greystone Road.
