DICKSON, TN (WSMV) -

An organization meant to bring recognition to the sacrifices made by fallen service members was in Middle Tennessee on Tuesday as part of a cross-country run.

America’s Run for the Fallen compiled the largest database of fallen service members and they stop every mile to read the names of the fallen.

“As Americans, we should appreciate those who lay down their lives and show appreciation,” said George Lutz. “We should recognize those who served and died, and remember families still living with us now.”

The group started in California and will run through 19 states and end at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, DC.

They will travel 4,000 miles in 88 days.

While they were here, they read names of those who died in July 2012.
