GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -

A Madison couple has been arrested on charges of forging medical documents, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

After a request for an investigation by District Attorney General Ray Whitley, TBI agents determined that Camille Arendt, 30, and Tyris Brown, 52, provided falsified medical documents several times in 2017 and 2018 to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Department in an effort to secure temporary release of Brown from the county jail for doctor’s appointments at two medical facilities he did not schedule for a diagnosis he did not have.

The Sumner County Grand Jury returned indictments against Arendt and Brown on May 7, charging them each with six counts of forgery and three counts of identity theft. The indictments also charged Brown with one count of failure to appear.

Brown was served with the additional charges on Wednesday at the Sumner County Jail where he remains jailed on unrelated charges. Arendt was arrested on Wednesday and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
