MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A Kentucky man received a gift on Monday stitched with love and prayers.

Terry Oxford, a Vietnam War veteran from Bowling Green, KY, who has received two Purple Hearts, received a Quilt of Valor.

Two women from Murfreesboro and Lebanon collaborated on the quilt, their way of recognizing the work of the veterans.

“This is probably the most recognition I’ve ever gotten,” said Oxford during the ceremony at Middle Tennessee State University.

He was also presented with a walking stick and a challenge coin for his heroism.

The ceremony was organized by the MTSU Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center.
