NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Officers say a standoff situation at a north Nashville apartment complex has ended.

Police surrounded an apartment at the Cumberland View public housing complex on Wednesday morning. Officers were using speakers to talk to the subject.

It's not clear who police were looking for or if anyone was arrested.

The situation happened near the scene of a shooting that happened in the 2500 block of 25th Avenue North on Tuesday night.

An officer was in the area when he heard gunshots around 9:15 p.m. He later found the gunshot victim on the ground.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Officers said they believe there may have also been a crash because a utility pole was knocked down in the area. However, they could not find the car involved.
