Dolly Parton is taking her talents to Netflix.

In an announcement on her website, Parton detailed the upcoming eight-episode series. Parton's Dixie Pixie Productions is partnering with Warner Bros. Television to create the series, which will debut on the streaming service in 2019.

Each episode is based on one of Parton's classic songs. The Emmy-winning singer will appear in select episodes, according to the press release.

This is not the first time Parton has teamed up with Warner Bros. Television. The studio produced two of her NBC-TV Films -- 2016's "Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love," and "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors," which was released in 2015.

"As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music," Parton said in a press release. "I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix."

An exact date for the series' release has not been set.
