Metro, NES, TVA to make improvements to homes

Posted: Updated:

About 125 homes in Nashville are about to get a major upgrade, thanks to a collaboration between Mayor David Briley’s office, Nashville Electric Service and the Tennessee Valley Authority.

NES Home Energy Uplift will provide whole home energy improvements to about 125 limited income families who own homes in Davidson County.

Each improvement is worth about $8,000.

As fast as Nashville is growing, Mayor David Briley said he doesn’t want to leave anyone behind.

“It’s important to remember that residents that have been here for decades, we need to keep them, and we need to help them through this era of prosperity,” said Briley.

Homeowners will be notified by postcard if they are eligible.

The upgrades could include new air conditioners, Energy Star windows and high-efficiency lighting.
