FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

You might notice some new artwork on Columbia Avenue.

Blue traffic lines are painted in front of the Franklin Police headquarters to honor the brave men and women who protect the community.

“We wanted to let the police officers that work at this headquarters know they are very appreciated and supported by their community,” said Franklin Police Lt. Charles Warner. “We never know what the next shift is going to bring. Not knowing but showing up day after day to put their lives in harms way for people they may have never met, that’s incredible courage.”

Six officers have died protecting Williamson County.

The lines are installed for National Police Week, which starts on Monday.
