NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Tennessee inmate is accused of threatening the assistant district attorney who prosecuted his case.

Reginald Steed, 27, is serving time in prison after being convicted for his role in a shooting that happened in 2015.

Steed is accused of sending letters to a Davidson County prosecutor between March 2017 and January 2018. He allegedly threatened retaliation if his charges were not dropped.

The Davidson County Grand Jury returned an indictment for Steed on April 23 for one count of retaliation for past action.

Steed is being held at the Whiteville Correctional Facility.
