CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a teenager was killed during a home invasion in Clarksville early Friday morning.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, a male teenager was shot around 12:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Post Road.

When officers arrived, the homeowners told police that a family member had been shot inside the home.

The victim was taken to Tennova Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

According to police, multiple men entered the home. Gunshots were heard shortly afterward by the other people inside the home. The other residents were not injured.

Investigators said the inside of the house was ransacked.

The men got away from the home, and the residents called 911. Police have not released the suspects' names.

According to police, this does not appear to be a random crime, and the general public is not in danger.
