Driver killed in fiery rollover crash on Highway 96

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

Highway 96 has reopened after a deadly crash in Williamson County on Friday morning. 

The collision happened around 4:20 a.m. near Little East Fork Road, which is on the Davidson/Williamson County line. 

Two cars traveling in opposite directions hit head-on, causing one of them to flip and catch fire.

The driver of the car that rolled over, identified as Julie Burgin, 32, of Bon Aqua, TN, was killed, and the woman driving the other car, identified as Ashley Lewis, 26, of Fairview, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. She had significant injuries but is expected to be OK.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved, but they are investigating. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
