(Meredith) -- ALDI grocery stores have issued a recall for about 35,000 Ambiano brand deep fryers. The fryers' heating element can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. There have been three reports of the fryers catching fire, causing minor property damage in all three cases. No injuries have been reported.
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission urges customers to immediately stop using the deep fryers and to contact their local ALDI grocery store for a full refund.
The Ambiano mini deep fryers, manufactured by Guangzhou Linkco Electrical Industries Limited of China, were sold in two colors, brushed stainless steel and red. They measure about 10 inches wide and 11 inches tall. The units have 'Ambiano' printed on the front. The friers will also have a barcode printed on the bottom of the unit. Recalled fryers will have a barcode number of 20072483 or 20072490.
