SMITHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police have arrested the third inmate who escaped from the DeKalb County Jail last week.

Daniel Trey Hamilton, 26, was taken into custody in Fort Myers, FL, on Tuesday night.

Police said they found him after he was involved in a crash. He remains in custody in Lee County, FL, and is awaiting extradition to DeKalb County.

Hamilton, Jack Mullican Jr. and Bryon Gibbs broke out of the jail annex last Wednesday.

Sheriff Patrick Ray said they escaped from the back of the annex “through a door we believed they jimmied open.”

Mullican, 38, was found by police last week when someone heard him yelling for help in an underground water drain. He told police he split off from the two other escapees and was ready to turn himself in.

Gibbs, 32, was arrested on Saturday when a police officer saw him run into the middle of the road in Alexandria, TN. Gibbs allegedly resisted arrest, which is when several bystanders stepped in to help.

Four women have also been arrested for allegedly permitting or facilitating an escape. Margaret Taylor, 40; Miranda Johnson, 40; and Jessica Jenkins, 29, were all arrested Thursday. Alesha Scott, 28, was arrested over the weekend.
