NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The search for the next head football coach at the University of Tennessee took another turn on Tuesday.

Multiple outlets report that Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy has become the focus of the Vols’ search.

UT athletic director John Currie reportedly met with Gundy on Tuesday in Dallas.

However, multiple reports indicate that Gundy turned down UT's offer, opting to stay at Oklahoma State. A tweet from Gundy seemed to cement the news.

Gundy has been with Oklahoma State for 13 seasons and has finished ranked in six of them.

Gundy made $4.2 million this season and has a $3 million buyout clause.
