NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Friends and family of a man shot and killed on an MTA bus gathered for a vigil in north Nashville on Tuesday.

Police say 18-year-old Tyvonceea Hayden was shot Monday on the bus as it was headed south on Gallatin Pike South near East Webster Street.

Witnesses say a brief exchange took place between Hayden and 18-year-old Antonio Jones before Jones allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Hayden in the chest.

Family members told News 4 they are trying to make sense of what happened.
