SMITH COUNTY, TN -

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Saturday in Smith County.

According to the TBI, Dora Nash was shot by her husband, 55-year-old Stacye Nash, during an altercation at their home on Tribble Lane.

Stacye Nash then allegedly went to his stepson's home nearby and fired shots at him and his girlfriend. His stepson sustained minor, superficial injuries from a bullet, while the girlfriend ran to the woods and called police.

When Smith County deputies arrived at the scene, Stacye Nash reportedly fired at them. They returned fire, and he was struck.

He and his wife were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. No officers were injured.

On Sunday evening, Stacye Nash was arrested and charged in the shooting.

He now faces one count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder and was booked into the Smith County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
