Police: Suspect flees after robbing South Nashville gas station at gunpoint

BELLE MEADE, TN (WSMV) -

A South Nashville gas station clerk was robbed at gunpoint on Friday afternoon, Metro Police confirm.

Officials say the suspect entered Delta Express on Harding Place just after 3 p.m. on Friday, held up the clerk, stole money from the register and fled on foot. 

The clerk was not harmed.

The suspect is described as a white male, approx. 5'8" to 5'10" tall, and wearing a dark-colored hoodie, black mask, and blue jeans. 

A K-9 team attempted to pursue the suspect but was unsuccessful. 

Midtown Hills detectives are still actively investigating the robbery.
