NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Middle Tennessee pastor named in a letter in support of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore told News 4 he was never asked to sign the letter and didn’t hear about it until Monday.

Moore’s wife Kayla posted the letter to Facebook on Sunday. It features the names of more than 50 pastors.

Dr. George Grant is the head of Parish Presbyterian Church in Franklin. He said he did not give permission for his name to be on this list.

Grant told News 4 he hasn’t spoken to Moore in a decade. Grant added he hasn’t spoken to Moore’s campaign since it started.

Grant also said he is not concerned with the politics in Alabama, saying, “Not my state. Not my issues.”

Moore is accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old nearly four decades ago when he was 32 years old.
