NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A teacher remains on indefinite suspension without pay after allegedly removing a student’s hijab and recording it on social media.

School administrators at the New Vision Academy Charter School in Nashville told News 4 they have met with parents and all teachers in the building to discuss the incident.

An attorney for the school said several people have reached out, offering to help the school with Muslim cultural and sensitivity training.

The attorney said the teacher acted in poor judgment but without malice. She remains under disciplinary review.

School leaders have been engaging with community leaders to rebuild trust.
