NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The suspects accused of vandalizing a famous Nashville mural will be in court Monday.

If you've ever driven by the "I Believe in Nashville" mural, you know there's usually a line around the corner to take a picture in front of it. That's why so many people were outraged when it was vandalized in July.

Police say Brandon Murphy was caught on surveillance camera putting black paint over part of the mural.

Breanna Lesch and Caleb Jones are accused of serving as Murphy's lookouts. They're also accused of helping to plan the vandalism.

The vandalism happened about a week before the five-year anniversary of the creation of the mural.

The owner of the building guessed it would cost more than $1,000 to restore the mural. The mural was restored within a matter of days after the vandalism.

Monday's court hearing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
