NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro Councilman Steve Glover now plans to sue the city of Nashville.

He’s one of several plaintiffs listed on the lawsuit that will be filed in chancery court Tuesday afternoon.

The lawsuit alleges that city officials circumvented the rules by leasing Greer Stadium to “The Mathews Group” without allowing the council to vote on it.

News 4 reached out to Mayor Megan Barry’s office for reaction.

Spokesperson Sean Braisted responded saying, “Metro has not leased anything to the Mathews Group. Anything that happens at this location would require approval of the Parks Board and Metro Council. While Metro has followed all proper rules and procedures regarding the proposed redevelopment of Greer Stadium, I can’t comment on pending or threatened litigation against Metro.”

The plaintiffs held a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
